10 Tips for Emotional Health
To start off, I’ve come to really value my emotions. They hold so much wisdom about who you are, what you want, what matters to you and so much more.
But sometimes it’s difficult to know how to manage your emotions, or even how to take care of them.
Even though this is my jam, (you know – writing about emotional health!), sometimes I struggle with it! If you can relate, that’s totally ok.
Over the last year, I’ve learned a lot about feelings that I want to share with you. Here are 10 things I’ve learned about emotions.
My Top 10 Tips for Emotional Health
Give your emotions space to exist without trying to change how you feel.
Spend 15 minutes a day writing whatever comes to mind in your journal.
Regardless of what you feel, tell yourself, ‘it’s ok that I’m feeling this.’
Speak up when something doesn’t feel right to you.
Remind yourself that it’s ok to feel good sometimes. Joy is safe.
Tell loved ones how you feel even if it’s uncomfortable.
We’re globally going through a lot of stress. Be patient with yourself.
Crying helps detoxify your body. Let it out when you need to.
Accept that your emotions are a part of who you are. You’re not bad for having them.
Conclusion
When it comes to taking care of your emotions, you have to be patient and understanding with yourself. The more you resist your emotions, the more they build up and stress you out. So, breathe, let them flow and take care of yourself.
